Salut.
Je viens d'installer une KLA, j'ai une carte ati radeon. L'affichage fonctionne mais:
- Je n'ai pas de sortie TV
- Je n'arrive pas à lire (correctement) certain fichiers comme mpeg2
- L'economiseur d'ecran fonctionne mais pas la mise en veille du moniteur.
Je pensais resoudre ces problemes en installant le driver proprietaire de chez ati.
Je lance donc l'installation kpackage (pardon pour les puristes) après avoir verifier la version de mon xfree. Voila que pendant l'installation on me demande le serveur x par defaut. J'ai un choix de 1 à 15 avec divers serveurs je choisis donc le 14 qui correspond à xfree. Mais la question revient une deuxieme fois avec un choix en moins celui du xfree. ????
Est-ce normal? Faut il pour le deuxieme choix indiquer un autre serveur pour la sortie tele? Si oui lequel? Sinon que puis-je faire?

Bijour,

Où as-tu récupéré le pilote ATI ? Quelle version d'X/Xorg utilises-tu ?

Pour la sortie TV, soit tu peux utiliser l'utilitaire ATI (mais je sais pas comment ça marche ;) ), soit tu édites le fichier de configuration à la main (ce que je préconise, mais bon). Après il faut aussi savoir ce que tu veux : mode clone ou extension du bureau (écran ordinateur = écran TV donc au mieux 800x600, ou écran d'ordi s'étendant sur l'écran TV) ?

Pour le mpeg2 je suis pas sûr que cela vienne du pilote vidéo, mais plutôt du codec : quel logiciel utilises-tu ?

Pour la mise en veille, perso j'éteins mon écran ... comme ça je consomme vraiment rien ;)

PS: le serveur X/Xorg propriétaire est le fglrx, mais un pilote du noyau doit être au préalable chargé.

Je n'ai pas recuperé le pilote ati c'est kpackage qui le trouve dans ses sources.
Ma version d'Xfree c'est la 4.3.
J'ai vu passer une config en editant le fichier mais elle datait de 2003 et je trouve que l'affichage peine trop et je voudrais voir si cela va mieux avec le driver ati.
Pour la sotie tele je n'ai aucun utilitaire ati (je pense le trouver avec le driver), j'ai besoin d'un 1280/1024 pour le moniteur et pour la tele je ne sais pas mais un 800/600 devrais faire l'affaire.
Pour le mpeg2 je crois que c'est xim ou xmms.
Et pour la mise en veille j'ai l'utilitaire de confiquration graphique mais il n'a aucun effet. Je peux aussi couper le compteur, mais je prefererais que l'ecran de veille fonctionne normalement (meme sous win ca marche...).

Voilà typiquement pourquoi je n'aime pas les clickodromes ... au bout du compte on ne sait pas ce qu'on fait ;)

Est-ce que le module ATI du noyau est bien chargé ?

Si c'est pas le cas, tu n'iras pas loin.

Où kpackage récupère-t-il le pilote ATI ? A ma connaissance ATI ne fournit qu'un .rpm, d'où ma question de savoir d'où provient le pilote installé.

Sinon donne le contenu de ton /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, ça peut aider, ainsi que le fichier de log d'X (/var/log/XFree86.0.log ou approchant).

Ah oui, et à tout hasard le résultat d'un

Bon, là je suis un peu short en temps, je viens de me battre plus d'une heure pour avoir mon réseau Wi-Fi (sous XP pour le moment ...), je t'explique tout ça demain ;)

Bon, j'ai une bonne nouvelle pour toi, tu as une radeon 9200SE, donc pas besoin du pilote prorpiétaire ATI ... apparemment ce jeu de composant est mal reconnu par certains serveurs XFree, mais ça se soigne assez bien ;)

Donc voici les modifications que je te propose dans ton /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 :

Section "Device"
Identifier "Card0"
Driver "radeon"
VendorName "ATI"
BoardName "ATI 9200SE RV280"
ChipId 0x5964
BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
EndSection

Tu spécifies le pilote "radeon" (qui supporte les radeons jusqu'à la 9200), l'emplacement sur le bus PCI, ainsi que le ChipID (c'est apparemment ce qui manque à certains serveurs X pour bien reconnaitre la carte).

Bon, normalement ça devrait marcher, tu relances ton serveur X (genre

/etc/init.d/kdm restart
sous debian et KDE il me semble) et tu vois ce qui se passe ...

Sous X, dans une console, pour vérifier que l'accélération 3D fonctionne tu lances la commande :

Sinon tu colles ton /var/log/XFree86.0.log (si possible entre balises code :? ).

Mais est-ce de la que vient mon probleme pendant l'installation du driver proprietaire, ou de la modification du xfree ?

J'ai la même version d'X (debian Sarge "pure"), donc pas de soucis de ce sôté là. Je n'ai pas trop compris comment tu as installé le pilote propriétaire, mais en tous les cas avec la configuration que tu as donnée tu ne l'utilises pas, tu utilises le pilote fbdev (framebuffer).

Pour le port AGP tu as une tripotée de pilotes chargés (me demande bien pourquoi) ainsi que le pilote agpgart qui gère l'AGP (c'est celui que j'utilise également).

Essaie ce que je t'ai dit avec le pilote radeon, ça devrait marcher normalement !

Je n'ai pas installé le pilote proprietaire, j'ai juste essayé mais l'installation n'a pas été au bout car je suis bloqué sur le choix du serveur X.
Est-ce que le pilote frame buffer est aussi "bon" (cote performances) que le pilote propriétaire? Lequel utilises tu?
Pour les pilotes du port agp mon systeme est une kla...
