Bonjour à tous,

j'ai été amené à faire une install de Dapper sur portable Toshiba, pour un collègue. L'install s'est bien déroulé, en ce qui concerne Ubuntu.

L'erreur survient au lancement de windows, où le PC affiche :

Depuis lors, il est impossible de lancer Windows. Je précise que nous avons fait l'install sur le même disque dur que windows. Partitionnement manuel (car trop peu de place restant pour lancer le partitionnement automatique de Dapper).

Nous avons donc (en gros, d'après ce que je me souvienne) :

/dev/hda1 : windows (amorce)
/dev/hda2 : swap
/dev/hda5 : /root
/dev/hda6 : /home

J'ai remplacé dans le menu windows :

root (hd0,0) par rootnoverify (hd0,0), mais sans succès aucun.

Quelqu'un pourrait-il éclairer nos lanternes ?

J'espère que le lanceur de Windows n'est pas endommagé.

Essaie donc de le lancer en ligne de commande grub. Lors du menu de démarrage, touche 'C', puis
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
chainloader +1

J'ai déjà été confronté à des situations où l'entrée dans le menu.lst perturbe grub (tabulation au lieu d'espace, caractères invisibles ?). Si des fois tu es obligé d'installer le boot de windows, il y a possibilité d'installer grub sous Windows.

Tiens nous au courant de tes avancements.

le souci étant qu'il s'agit du PC d'un collègue, je ne pourrais pas tester d'ici lundi... Cela dit, ça lui permet ainsi de mieux maîtriser Linux et de se passer de windows, et de pas le redémarrer dès qu'il bute. La meilleure façon de switcher selon moi

Relativisons, il n'a, pour l'instant, pas le Net... Ce qui n'est pas fait pour aider à maîtriser linux.

Ben j'ai aidé justement

Plus sérieusement je me demande si cela ne vient pas du repartitionnement qui a modifié en partie le MBR.
Option a tenter : Péter toutes les partitions / Refaire les partitions nécessaires pour win et Ubuntu / Reinstaller win avec l'outil fourni avec le portable / Finir avec l'install d'Ubuntu

Oui, on verra lundi, avec la solution proposée par Téthis...

Soit ça passe, soit, il y aura je pense réinstallation windows... Soit une suppression totale de celui-ci, et une réinstallation propre d'Ubuntu : c'est qu'il a l'air plutôt content de Dapper, et comme il compte prendre une connexion internet très prochainement

Sinon, simplement remettre le chargeur de win, histoire de voir si lui-même peut booter sur win, puis réinstaller grub par dessus... (c'est une idée en l'air...)
