Et ben voila... Prince lance sa propre plateforme de téléchargement... donc, a tester pour voir si c'est interoperable jusqu'au bout, mais en tout cas, pied de nez aux majors...

http://www.npgmusicclub.com/

Special Note to Macintosh Users
Unfortunately, our content will not play reliably and with full functionality on Macintosh computers due to known incompatibilities between the Mac OS and Microsoft's Windows Media Player Digital Rights Management (DRM) system. Microsoft has verified this compatibility problem in an article on its website, essentially explaining that there are many cases where "there is no way to resolve the issue, and you won't be able to play the file." You can read the entire article at Microsoft.com.

If you still wish to attempt to play our content on a Macintosh, we have some suggestions (we are unable to support Mac users should these steps fail to work nor can we issue refunds):
Make sure you have the latest version of Windows Media Player and Internet Explorer for Macintosh. You can download the latest versions of both programs for free at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/sear ... tegoryid=5.
Please note that Windows Media Player 9 for Macintosh will not allow you to burn your downloaded content to CD.
Ensure that you are not running any firewall software, or AOL. If you are using AOL, lower the AOL consol and open Internet Explorer independently.
Set your default browser to Internet Explorer so that you can acquire our DRM licenses. You can set this in Safari under "Preferences."
Open Internet Explorer and attempt to buy and download your content acquire the license. The DRM requires IE objects, and if it is attempting to process a URL with Safari, the plug-in won't load.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide further assistance or refunds if the above suggestions do not work on your Macintosh. We appreciate the desire of our enthusiastic Mac-based users to access our content as do we appreciate your understanding with regards to the limitations of Microsoft's Windows Media Player for Macintosh and lack of a Mac DRM for Windows that an independent store can use.

Special Note to AOL Users
In order to successfully navigate the NPG Music Store and to download/play our content, AOL users should not use AOL's integrated web browser which is a non-standard version of Internet Explorer.

Instead, please minimize the AOL program and launch the stand-alone version of Internet Explorer on your desktop or under the Start button.

extraits de la FAQ:
Questions about Playing and Moving Music and Videos

Do I have to use Windows Media Player 9.0 or higher?
Yes. Our content is protected by Windows Media DRM licenses and only Windows Media Player version 9 (for Windows ME and 2000) and version 10 (for XP) can decode those DRM licenses. The media players of other vendors, even the ones that play standard WMV and WMA files, may not be able to work with our DRM licensed content.

Do I have to be connected to the Internet to play my music or videos?
In order for the DRM license to be delivered to your computer, you will need to be connected to the internet the first time you listen to a song or view a video. Once the license is in place you will no longer be required to be connected to the Internet for later playing of the content on the computer on which it was first played.

How do I burn the music I've purchased to a CD?
You will need to use Microsoft's Windows Media Player to burn your music to a CD. Do not use third-party software for this purpose as it may not work due to the encrypted nature of our DRM licensed content.

For a step-by-step listing of how to burn content to a CD using Windows Media Player, please see the "Burning (Copying To) CDs" article on Microsoft's Windows Media Player FAQ website.

How can I transfer music to my Mp3 player?
If your portable device supports the Windows Media DRM file format you should be able to transfer songs without error. You can view a list of which portable devices support the Windows Media DRM file format at Microsoft's PlaysForSure.com

Note to iPod users: the iPod does not support the Windows Media DRM file format, and therefore will not play this content.

How do I change the file format of the content I downloaded?
We are unable to offer assistance or suggestions for changing the format of Windows Media Player files.
